Bereavement and Support

Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care (STHPC) provides bereavement services for families and loved ones of Hospice patients and for the community. STHPC Bereavement Services provide support and guidance to help individuals adjust to loss and regain hope and purpose in their lives.

Referral Services

Bereaved individuals may be referred to other community resources when their needs cannot be met by the Southern Tier Hospice Bereavement Program. The bereavement coordinator will assist you in connecting with the referral source to ensure that you gain the service that you require.

Individual Counseling

Our Bereavement Counselors can meet with individuals to provide support and guidance in coping with the grief process and understanding grief responses.

Bereavement Support Groups

Grief seems to heal best when you share it with others.  STHPC provides a variety of support groups that are open to any member of the community.  STHPC groups are designed to offer companionship, memory sharing and support. STHPC invites all individuals who have experienced a death to participate in the support groups whether or not the loved one was a patient of STHPC.  Support groups change periodically along with need and available resources. In addition to the list below we have provided a pamphlet for download or print in Adobe PDF format. Click here for the Grief support group brochure.
